To answer previous comment, decision was not to document push notification as specs, instead only listing the notification types and describing what information they can contain.

Questions:

• Should we document the generated push notifications as specs that any developers can trust, and treat modifications to those specs(e.g. changing data fields included in the notifications) as API changes to be documented?

  • if so, we should document both android/FCM notifications and apple/APNS notifications

  • otherwise, we should likely not include the actual content of notifications, so as to not expose unreliable information if those notifications change - only describe generally the format of notifications and the kind of information included
